ThisTurkmenrug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925) in Central Asia.
It features a classic hatchli design in the center of the piece, surrounded by large borders of alternating chevrons and a lovely skirt border on one end. These rugs were traditionally used as a door cover or entrance to a yurt. You can find beautiful tones of brick red,indigoblue, ivory, orange, and pleasant purple throughout the rug.
In fair condition. Sturcturally sound but some visible wear remnants of glue in a couple of spoits(pictured); Small damaged areas on the bottom edge.
