This Heriz rug was handwoven in Northwest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features an allover design of geometric palmettes and large serrated leaves in blues, green, coral, gold, black, and ivory on an undulating brick ground. All-over designs are less common on Heriz rugs which most often feature large central medallions. The main border is composed of a rosette and an outstretched arm palmette border on a surmah ground.
In very good condition, with minimal wear for its age. Medium pile with a sturdy handle.
