This Suzani was handmade during the early 20th century in Uzbekistan.

This suzani is composed of central floral motif embroidered in silk on an open red cotton field. Flanked by vibrant multi-tiered blossoming flowers to the right and left and framed by a lively floral meander. A multitude of colors are used for the embroidery, including turqoise, green, white, yellow, and purple.

This Hadji Jalili Hunting Tabriz features a classic hunting motif against a backdrop of scrolling arabesques on a desirable burnt orange ground that is highly characteristic of Hadji Jalili weaving. The arabesque grows from central palmettes sprouting leaves and floral forms while providing a lush landscape for various animals to frolic. The animals are rendered in pairs with the most prominent showcasing lions hunting deer near the bottom.

This American Hooked rug was handhooked in New England during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925).  It features a pictorial design of two confronting dogs against a backdrop of trees. Wonderfully folky with a simple but effective use of perspective. The same pf dog is featured but subtle differences like the color of the collar and the different shape of the faces highlight the handmade nature and unique character that is desired in these pieces.

It is simple and straightforward yet still striking in its warmth and beauty. This Torba was handwoven by Tekke Turkmen Turkmenistan during the early 20th Century.  This trapping features a design of eight aina güls in earthy red, browns ivory and navy. Framed by a multitude of borders that include zigzags, flowers, diamonds and serrated leaves. A torba is a small storage used to both transport and store belongings that is similar to a chuval but not as deep. Polychrome knotheads remain of what were once long fringes.
