This vintage Turkmen trapping was handwoven in Central Asia during the 20th Century.
This trapping features a simple and straightforward color palette of earthy reds, ivory, yellow, and navy. The design is composed of six ikat-inspired güls which are framed by small borders and simple protection symbols. The highlight of the piece is the wonderful hanging which alternates between earthy red, rusty orange, and deep indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or an animal. The top is finished with lovely brocaded embellishment.
In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Low pile, original fringe, and tassels still intact, with a sturdy handle.
