Antique pastel Kantha featuring a central mandala with pinwheels at its focal point as well as its four flanks. The patterning is a variation of different abstracted forms consistent in form as well as color with a limited palette of navy and red faded to soft pink on a white cotton ground. The consistency is slightly thrown by some moments where the original red has not faded packing a small punch. The red moments in combination with the pinwheels give this piece a hypnotic effect.

The red and black threads were likely harvested and reused from old clothing. A mixed border of local fish (Ilish) on the vertical and birds (Doyel) on the horizontal frame the whole. Look closely to notice two small birds in one cornice.

This 19th Century Kashkuli Qashqa'i Bagface features a large latch-hooked diamond medallion filled with a central talish rosette connected to four further rosettes in each direction with various smaller rosettes and protection symbols on brick red ground. The very full central medallion appears outright spacious next to the deep navy field which surrounds it and is crowded with an abundance of rosettes that appear like flowers growing wild in a lush field.
