This American Hooked rug was handhooked in New England during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925). It features a pictorial design of two confronting dogs against a backdrop of trees. Wonderfully folky with a simple but effective use of perspective. The same pf dog is featured but subtle differences like the color of the collar and the different shape of the faces highlight the handmade nature and unique character that is desired in these pieces.

This Torba was handwoven by Tekke Turkmen Turkmenistan during the early 20th Century. This trapping features a design of eight aina güls in earthy red, browns ivory and navy. Framed by a multitude of borders that include zigzags, flowers, diamonds and serrated leaves. A torba is a small storage used to both transport and store belongings that is similar to a chuval but not as deep. Polychrome knotheads remain of what were once long fringes.

Features ikat-inspired güls in earthy reds, ivory, yellow, and navy. wonderful hanging fringe which alternates between madder red and deep indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or for use on a pack animal. The top is finished with lovely brocaded embellishment.
