Turkish Oushak rug handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This rug features a bold central medallion and elaborate cornices, all on a bright red field. The soft mauves and ivories of the design contrast nicely with the brightness of the field, and the black outlines provide detailing to the design. The border is equally ornate as the main field composition.
In good condition, signs of wear are consistent with age. Low pile, with a light handle.
