Maimana kilim woven in Afghanistan during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It is composed of a pointed-diamond pattern in dark blues, orange, taupes, and greens. The borders are composed of diamond and rectangular designs in blues, taupes, greens, and ivory. The outer skirt borders are composed of multicolor zigzags and orange and ivory pinstripes on a brown ground.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age, with original skirt-borer ends. Flatwoven, with a sturdy handle. Excellent rug for high traffic areas.
