This Khamseh rug was handwoven during the early 20th century in Southern Iran.
It features a stunning field of blooming tulips atop a dark brown backdrop with green accents. It is framed by a stark white main border of alternating eight-pointed stars and hooked cartouche-like devices.
It is wool on wool with a thick meaty handle. In great condition, with scattered spots of well-executed and sometimes creative repairs.
