Yomud Turkmen horse-trapping, handwoven in C Asia during the first quarter of the 20th century.
This Turkmen horse trapping features a hooked zigzag design arranged vertically in columns. The color palette is composed of the classic Turkmen colors: blues, reds, whites, and browns, with a bright orange providing a pop of color. The fine and dainty border follows the shape of the weaving and is non-contiguous. Notice the multicolor edging that alternates between red, blue, white, and orange.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Low pile, with a soft handle. A truly unique and one-of-a-kind collector's item.
