A joyful and highly decorative Heriz from the second quarter of the 20th century.
This piece is distinguished by its less common allover shrub and blossom field in lieu of the familiar central medallion. The shifting botanical forms, serrated leaves, and angular palmettes are rendered in a vivid yet harmonious palette with a brick red ground and accents of sky blue, soft yellow, celadon, apricot, and deep indigo accents. The field has an uplifting, almost springlike energy while navy border of stylized leaves and flowerheads balances the field beautifully while framing the composition with quiet strength.
In very good condition with very little wear and full plush pile in a hard to find size for type.
