This Heriz rug was handwoven in Northwest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This classic Heriz features a geometric central medallion andrich saturated tones. A brick-red field is complemented by deep navy, french blue, yellow, and coral tones with brown and ivory accents. The four French blue cornices invigorate the rug and a wonderful undulatingabrashadds layers to the composition. It is framed by a navy main border of polychrome palmettes. In a desirable size that is more squarish than usual.
In very good condition with minimal wear for its considerable age. Light professional restoration has been done and ends have been reinforced for longevity.
