This Boucherouite rug was handwoven in Morocco during the end of the 20th century. Boucherouite rugs are made using recycled fabrics, giving them their distinctive multicolor and shaggy pile. This funky rug features a diamond checkerboard pattern in black, ivory, red and turquoise. The lovely free flowing nature is accentuated by the changing proportions of the diamonds and uneven use of the vibrant tones (especially the turquoise!)

This Hadji Jalili Hunting Tabriz features a classic hunting motif against a backdrop of scrolling arabesques on a desirable burnt orange ground that is highly characteristic of Hadji Jalili weaving. The animals are rendered in pairs with the most prominent showcasing lions hunting deer near the bottom.
