This Turkmen rug was handwoven in Central Asia during the first quarter of the 20th century by the Tekke.
This main rug is composed of a repeat design of the classic major and minor guls commonly found on Tekke rugs. The main border is also composed of classic Tekke symbols, while the skirt borders are woven with a different but no less popular design.
In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Pile is low and rug very finely woven, with a solid but airy handle.
A truly classic and timeless rug in a hard to find size for type.
